July the 20th 2006 was a life-changing day for Ryan, his family and friends.

At the youthful age of 16 Ryan tragically broke his neck in a swimming pool
accident, sustaining a compression fracture of his 5th and 6th cervical vertebrae causing tetraplegia, paralysis from the chest down. Ryan is unable to walk and has limited reach and dexterity due to the use of his arms being severely impaired.

Before his accident Ryan was a dynamic individual, one minute he was fit, active
and healthy, the next minute he was paralysed, unable to move and in need
of care for the rest of his life.

Whilst Ryan’s injury is incomplete, meaning his spinal cord was not severed
but sufficiently damaged to change his life completely by such a devastating disability, we all remain positive and live in hope that in time
Ryan may recover greater movement.

We are all proud and overwhelmed by Ryan’s attitude and outlook on life, his bravery and courage has been and continues to be an inspiration
to us all. He remains very positive about his future, focussing on many goals set by himself, becoming fully independent being his ultimate goal.

If you wish to aid Ryan and play an important role in helping him achieve his goals, any donations and you’re continuing support will be
gratefully appreciated. You are most welcome to meet Ryan and become part of his future.
