We had just such an amazing time on camp 2005. There were 70 of us and 20 of our teenagers committed their lives to Christ over the 9 days we were there. Pictures will soon be published on this site, but we have taken over 1000 digital photographs and they are available unedited on a DVD for a cost of £3 - proceeds going to Lee & Becky Plummer and their move to The Hope Foster Home in China.
The weather could have been better, but it didn't interfere with the fun & fellowship that was just fantastic again this year. This really is a very special place for us!
We were delighted to have several
visitors to camp. It was good to see Jane Young with Matthew & Tom; Andy
Throath, John Clements, Mark Hopley, Barbara & Martin Leech, Jason & Irene
Standerwick, Jane & John Craddock, Gary & Kathy Cook and George, Edd Robertson
and Chris & Karen Leng and Daniel. Some old friends and ex AYFers Rob &
Sarah Cox stayed with us for a couple of days with their children Rosie &
Charlie. (we love visitors!)
We are
very grateful to the team of drivers that help us get to & from camp - Chris
Blunt; Dave Riley; Phil Young; Kevin Ivory.
Richard our Rector came with his son Joe and stayed for four days with us which
was very special as we had time to share together and it also meant that we
could have communion as part of one of our evening epilogues.
We studied The beatitudes and The
Sermon on the Mount as part of our Quiet Time Groups and evening epilogues and
God was so gracious to us as we gave Him time to listen to Him and to learn from
Him.
Ruth Bryant had a lovely initiative, in that whilst the teenagers were
having their morning QT groups, she took the smaller children (Matt &
Abigail Bryant; Elliott & Josh Cook; Joe Cornfield); off into a mini bus and
led them through the same QT notes. The feedback was very special.
We are really so grateful to the dedicated team of leaders that gave up their summer holiday time to be there for our teenagers. It was so worthwhile.
Please continue to pray for us as we meet friday by friday and on sunday nights. Pray too for the new Christians as well, that God will move them on in their Christian journey as they get to know Him and His will for their lives.
More to follow..............
