Session 1: Get In! Community with each other

We looked at the idea the Body of Christ from 1 Corinthians Chapter 12.

1.       You are a part of that body! If you had to describe each other in the group as a body part, what part would they be & why? What part of the body do you think you are & why?

2.     We talked about accepting others as they are. What kind of people do you find it easiest to accept & like? What kind of people do you find hardest to accept or get on with? What things about yourself do you find hardest to accept? What can you do about it?

3.     We talked about inner circles of friends, about being in a close group of mates. What kind of things do we know about Jesus’ close group of friends, his disciples? What were their strengths & weaknesses? How does that help us in our relationships with our close friends?

4.     Finally we talked about Boy © Girl stuff. Who do you fancy most in YF? Only joking!! Unless of course you want to share with the group…! In what ways, if any, do you think being a Christian could or should affect how we go about things when thinking about boyfriends/girlfriends?

Session 2: Get Out! Community with the World

We looked at what it means to follow God all through the week, wherever we are & whoever we’re with

1.       It’s good to talk. What’s the best conversation you’ve ever had? Why?

2.     In what ways do you think your everyday conversation makes God pleased and makes him sad? What can we do about it?

3.     What do you think puts your friends off coming to YF or church, or becoming Christians? What can we do about it?

4.     We talked about drinking alcohol & ‘pulling’ as two examples of things that we need to think about how we act as Christians. What areas of life do you find it hard to be Christian? What other things in our everyday life do you think God wants us to think about? How does our behaviour in these areas affect our witness, either in a positive or negative way?

Session 3: Get Up! Community with God

1.       Fill in the ‘What’s Your Passion?’ sheets. It’d be good to share your top three passions with the group, although you don’t have to. Are you surprised at what you’re most passionate about? Can you think of practical ways in which you could use these passions?
